His theatrical style is characterized by grand archways and pillars, emphasising outdoor living spaces to take full advantage of the beautiful tropical setting.
After purchasing the home in 2013, the present owners have lovingly restored Crystal Springs to its original splendour, paying homage to the villa’s architectural significance as one of Messel’s most stunning creations. Local experts, artisans and craftsmen ensured the home’s historic integrity was maintained, with any new additions blending effortlessly with the original structures. Most of the original furnishings have been refurbished, now artfully combined with specially commissioned local artwork to create a sophisticated take on Caribbean style.
